
WHAT: A rare chance for Australian film lovers to experience the best new Canadian cinema and meet the filmmakers at panels and parties. The festival screens an eclectic selection of 20 new feature films from Canada, most of which are screening in Australia for the first time. In 2012, a Jury Award for Best Film will join the existing Audience Award.

WHY: Canadian cinema is one of the world’s most diverse and entertaining national cinemas, yet it’s still criminally under-appreciated. Possible Worlds exists to redress that, and introduce Australian audiences to world cinema’s best kept secret.

WHO: 3000 inquisitive film and culture lovers keen to explore the cultural links between Australia and Canada. Our audience is affluent, well-educated and lives mostly in the Eastern Suburbs, Inner City and Inner West, skewing slightly towards women, with 45% aged between 18-35.
WHEN: 13 to 19 August 2012.
WHERE: Dendy Opera Quays, Dendy Newtown and venues around Sydney. Selected films screen in Wollongong and Canberra.
