A rare chance for Australian film lovers to experience the best new independent cinema from Canada and the United States and meet the filmmakers at panels and parties. The festival screens an eclectic selection of 20 new feature films, most of which are screening in Australia for the first time.

WHY: Canadian and American independent cinema is one of the world’s most diverse and entertaining cinemas, yet they are under-represented on Australian screens. Possible Worlds exists to redress that, and introduce Australian audiences to world cinema’s best kept secrets.

WHO: 3000 inquisitive film and culture lovers keen to explore the cultural links between Australia and Canada. Our audience is affluent, well-educated and lives mostly in the Eastern Suburbs, Inner City and Inner West, skewing slightly towards women, with 45% aged between 18-35.
